This time of year I always get antsy when it comes to fashion. My fall looks have been played, I'm over chunky sweaters, but it's not warm enough for my floral dresses and sheer tops. Now is when I really rely on my wardrobe staples, the pieces that I love and wear regardless of the season.

I love having quality basics that I can amp up with fun pops for each season. Right now I'm really feeling touches of reds and pinks.

These are pieces I always have in my wardrobe. The styles for these items change slowly, so I feel okay investing in them versus something that will only be trendy for one season.

A Neutral Shoe

I don't only mean neutral in color, but also neutral in style. It's good to have a shoe in a subtle color that can be dressed up or dressed down. The past couple of years I've gravitated towards mules because they are comfortable and stylish. I like that they are cool girl and classic. These could be worn with pants, dresses, skirts, and shorts; and they could also been worn to work and weekend events.

Chic Sneaker

I have really fallen in love with the sneaker trend. There are so many cute options, and they can be styled in multiple ways. I've enjoyed seeing sneakers paired with trousers and blazers to add an unexpected element to a professional look. I'm usually pairing mine with jeans on the weekends.

White Tee

I think that if I could only have one top the rest of my life, it would be a white tee. I wear them all the time. They are so versatile and classic. There has been a re-emergence of them showing up under dresses, and tees with jeans will always be in style.

Denim Jacket

While the cut keeps changing, denim jackets have yet to go out of style. Right now a little looser and longer still seems to be the trendy option. They look great with basic everyday outfits or thrown over something a little dressier to give it an edge. I also appreciate them in summer because they look and feel lighter on chilly summer nights.

Great Denim

Having a go to pair of jeans makes getting ready easy. Right now my favorite cuts are high waisted, straight legs. I always like to have one pair of jeans in my closet with no or minimal distressing for work outfits.

Gold Hoops

I throw gold hoops on with almost any outfit. They make me feel great in basic outfits, or add a little spice to something dressier.

Dainty Necklaces

Layered necklaces are all over instagram. I love this look, and I also love how delicate a single strand looks, too.

Let me know what basics you live in every season!

Xoxo,

Kirsten
