Back to school is here, and for me that signals it’s time to start thinking about fall fashion. Even though the weather is still hot, my mind convinces me that I need some pumpkin spice and warm toned clothes in my life.
My name is Kirsten. I’m a teacher, and I also love talking all things fashion and beauty. I want to share with you some of my favorite back to school styles for teachers, students, and anyone that feels it’s time to change things up when back to school hits.
Thinking professionally:
Jumpsuits
I think jumpsuits are an underrated professional wardrobe staple. They are an entire look all in one. I’m a huge fan of separates, but sometimes it’s nice just to throw one item on. Especially at the beginning of the school year. Jumpsuits are also so comfortable and cool when the weather is warm. Then, when it cools down they look great styled with a blazer or jacket. They are also versatile enough to wear for work and weekends. When the weather is cooler, pairing with a jean jacket is a great option.
Heels
I love this style of heel. I find “shoeties” to be the most comfortable for a full day of work while still looking stylish. The more covered up design prevents the shoe from pinching in weird spots, and the chunkier heel makes it easier to be on my feet all day. Madeline is known for comfort, and I cannot decide between these two colors.
Dressy tops
I’m all about items that can work on the weekend and at work. This top can do double duty for sure. It’d look great with dress pants, a skirt, or jeans. For off duty I love the look of distressed denim with a super feminine top. Bonus, animal print is here to stay, and I’m not mad about it.
Thinking more casual:
Graphic tees
A graphic tee is a perfect casual staple. It can go with so many looks. For day classes, throw one on with joggers or denim. To spice it up, pair with leather leggings or a denim skirt. They can also be elevated even more with a blazer and heels.
Scrunchies
Not only are they totally adorable, scrunchies are such a practical item. They are great for quickly putting hair up and still looking purposeful, but they don’t leave dents if you want to wear your hair down later. I’m really loving the satin styles.
Denim
There is nothing like a solid pair of jeans to start the school year out right. Distressed denim isn’t going anywhere and looks great with tees and sandals now and cozy sweaters and booties later.
